Charity Partners
Run LoCo Races' mission is to promote healthy living through the movement of running and/or walking. We also look to give back to our community by exposing runners to local non-profit organizations and offering the opportunity to support those organizations with a donation.
We are happy to support the following non-profit organizations as charity partners of specific Run LoCo Races running events. We’ve raised nearly $5,000 for various local charities over the past several years.
Here’s a list of our charity partners and the running events supporting their cause.
Leesburg Rotary Club’s Peary Winston Scholarship Fund is the charity partner of our New Day * New Year 5k. The non-profit scholarship fund provides scholarships to Loudoun County Public School seniors who demonstrate economic needs, academic excellence, and a commitment to Service Above Self.
LELA Foundation is the charity partner of our Boxers & Briefs 5k. The LELA Foundation, Latina Endometriosis League of America, is a non-profit organization is dedicated to creating awareness about Endometriosis and breaking the taboo about menstrual period. The LELA Foundation also provides hygiene products and NEW underwear to those in need.
Hero Homes is our charity partner for our Red White ‘n Brew 5k and Stars ‘n Strips Fun Run. HeroHomes is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit foundation that was established to build homes for those who have fought for the preservation of freedom and democracy for our country. The goal of the organization has been to build a home for a veteran every year since its inception, all through the generous donations of sponsors, community members, and volunteers.
Freedom High School Track & Field Team is our charity partner of our Loudoun Mini Athletes’ Tri. The young athletes of the track and field team provide over 50 volunteers to support the Loudoun Mini Athletes’ Tri athletes through the swim, bike, and run elements of the event.
Broad Run High School Track & Field Team is our charity partner of our Ghost 5k & Scarecrow Sprint Fun Run. The young athletes of the track and field team provide over 25 volunteers to support the event at the start/finish line, on course, packet pick, up, and costume contest.
